To provide food, educate, give refuge and counsel those who are destitute, hungry and illiterate.
The complexity and fast pace of social and economic changes in Nakuru, Kenya dictates a new learning agenda, which focuses on the acquisition of skills for survival. The changing conditions make quality education and learning, requisites for economic prosperity, social cohesion and political stability, essential.
Illiteracy limits the ability of these people to function effectively in our society and places them in a disadvantaged position. They have fewer or no choices in employment, housing and health, which are needed to live a full life.
Lack of education is the source of poor health, impoverished living conditions resulting in the breakdown of the family unit and at times leading to the abandonment or a child orphaned.
The Gabriel Learning Centre provides:
1. Orphanage - a safe haven for those who have been abandoned, seek refuge and orphaned.
2. Primary School – Grade 1 – Grade 8 - High School and University.
3. Pre-Primary Education
4. Home Visitations - ensuring those who live in destitute conditions have water, food and the essentials for living.
5. Food, Medicines and Medical Procedures. - to the children, and those whom we visit during home visitations.
